„Every Young Avengers Hero Who Could Appear In Marvel Phase 4“

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to introduce multiple members of the Young Avengers during Phase 4, and here’s which young heroes could appear. After successfully capping off an 11-year story with Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios is now in the process of reshaping the way the MCU looks. Iron Man and Captain America are gone after leading the franchise through three Phases, and even though some of the other original Avengers still have futures, they are not the future.

Marvel’s Phase 4 lineup has grown and changed multiple times already since the initial announcement was made last summer. The next few years have Marvel’s usual amount of sequels, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. Still, it will also see new franchises like Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings introduce audiences to brand new characters. In total, Marvel Studios has six movies set to be released by the end of 2021, and that number grows if Morbius is as tied to the MCU as its trailer indicated.

But, movies are just one piece of Marvel Studios‘ plans now. They have announced eight different shows for Disney+ that will be connected to the movies unlike any other Marvel show before. Each of these shows on their own has potential set up for other movies, just look at how WandaVision will directly tie-in to Doctor Strange 2. But, there also appears to be an overarching goal for Disney+ to introduce new, younger heroes to the MCU, and many of them just so happen to be part of the Young Avengers in the comics. Here are all of the young heroes who could be introduced in Phase 4.

One of the original members of the Young Avengers in the comics, Kate Bishop, will finally make her MCU debut during Phase 4. This will happen when she co-stars in the Hawkeye Disney+ series opposite Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. The show will see Clint train Kate so she can take over the mantle of Hawkeye. Even though there were recent rumors that Hawkeye could be delayed, there is no confirmation that the series and Bishop will not debut next year as planned. Marvel Studios has not yet announced who will play Kate in the MCU, although Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld was reportedly offered the role, so the casting process is underway. Regardless of who plays Kate Bishop, she is the only member of the Young Avengers confirmed to suit up in Phase 4 in a prominent role. Once she does debut, big things should be in store for the MCU’s newest sharpshooter.

William Kaplan aka Wiccan is another member of the Young Avengers who might appear during Phase 4. In the comics, Wiccan is a reincarnated version of Billy Maximoff, the son of Scarlet Witch and Vision. Wanda created him by using Mephisto’s life essence and ultimately lost Billy, but the comics eventually brought him back as William Kaplan. He possesses magical powers like his mother and is an original member of the Young Avengers, although at that time he was known as „Asgardian“ to try and be a new version of Thor. Given his ties to the lead characters, there has long been speculation and even some rumors that Wiccan will appear in WandaVision. The series will take a look at Wanda and Vision in domestic life, which is how kids could become part of the picture. Even if Wanda winds up losing Wiccan by the end of WandaVisionDoctor Strange 2 could possibly bring him back using the multiverse.

If Wiccan does come to the MCU in Phase 4, then Speed may not be too far behind. Born as Tommy Maximoff, he was the twin brother to Billy and the second son of Scarlet Witch and Vision. He similarly was created using his mother’s powers and Mephisto’s life essence and disappeared like his brother. He was brought back as Thomas Shepherd and was put in prison after his powers – which include super-speed like his uncle and molecular acceleration – vaporized his high school. He was freed from his cell by the Young Avengers and has been with the team ever since. Speed is also rumored to have a role in WandaVision in the same vein as his brother. It would be odd to have one without the other, even if WandaVision is used more as set up for the reincarnated versions of Wanda’s children. And if Speed and his brother are characters Marvel Studios wants to use, the reality-bending nature of WandaVision could be the perfect place to do so.

There have also been rumors that Teddy Altman aka Hulkling could be making his MCU debut in Phase 4. He is half Kree, half Skrull and an original member of the Young Avengers in the comics and is currently the king of the cosmos. But, the reported details for his debut in WandaVision paint a different picture for Hulkling. The series is going to feature Nick Fury’s cosmic-focused agency SWORD in some capacity, as the adult Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) might be working for them. Hulkling will reportedly be tied to SWORD, as the organization can help keep him safe on Earth. What exactly he needs protection from is not known, but Hulkling’s role could help establish what SWORD does in the MCU. This could potentially build off the Kree cells on Earth mentioned in Spider-Man: Far From Home or be a further example of Fury helping the Skrulls. That may make it seem like Hulkling could be better suited for a debut in Captain Marvel 2 than WandaVision, but it still works. And, if all of these rumors are correct, then it could also set up the romance between Hulkling and Wiccan from the comics.

It’s also beginning to look like America Chavez aka Miss America may make her way into the MCU during Phase 4. She is not an original member of the Young Avengers but joined them more recently in the comics to protect Wiccan from Loki’s plots to kill him. Marvel Studios is possibly looking to cast the young Hispanic LGBTQ hero so that she can have a supporting role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Her abilities to travel across space and time – and the fact she comes from a different reality in the comics – makes her an easy fit in the sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange. With the film’s title highlighting how the multiverse will prominently be featured, this could be the perfect opportunity to introduce Miss America and join the MCU’s reality.

Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel is another young hero confirmed to be making her MCU debut in Phase 4. She is set to star in her very own Disney+ series after Marvel Studios laid the foundation for the Captain Marvel superfan to have her inspiration. Kamala is a fan-favorite character that is rightfully being given the spotlight on Disney+, but it won’t stop there. Kevin Feige has already confirmed that she will move to the big screen after Ms. Marvel happens too. With casting well underway to find an actress to play the Pakistani-American hero, it may not be long before we find out who will play the young hero. And given the popularity of Ms. Marvel, don’t be surprised if she finds her way onto the Young Avengers roster, even though she’s never been a member in the comics.
