#The Osbourne’s Ozzy Osbourne Reveals Parkinson’s Disease Diagnosis -BB

Ozzy Osbourne from The Osbournes has revealed his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. Osbourne rose to fame as the lead singer of the band, Black Sabbath, and later embarked on a successful solo career and a very sucessful stint on reality television.

He and his wife Sharon gave the tell-all interview to Roberts, partly in response to the litany of tabloid headlines that he was on his death bed. Osbourne admits that his diagnosis came after a bad fall he suffered following a performance at the Forum on New Year’s Eve. He was forced to have surgery to correct the injury, only to suffer nerve damage. Osbourne was later told he has PRKN 2, which is one of many forms of Parkinson’s.

„The Prince of Darkness,“ as he’s known to fans, broke the story to Robin Roberts on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning America. The „Close My Eyes Forever“ singer was diagnosed with the neurological disorder last February, but admitted that it’s been difficult to stay mum about his health. He revealed, „I’m no good with secrets.“ He continued, „I cannot walk around with it anymore ’cause it’s like I’m running out of excuses, you know?“ While his physical state may be altered because of the disease, Osbourne admits that he’s far from being on his death bed. The interview was his way of controlling the narrative and making people understand he’s sick but not in peril.

Ozzy isn’t the only Osbourne who is living with less-than-perfect health. His son Jack was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2012. Both men have had the chance to bond in recent years while working on their collaboration, Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour. The reality show takes father and son to parts unknown during their road trip in an RV. Jack also notes that he’s able to empathize with his dad, after receiving his own unfavorable health news. Jack said,„I understand when you have something you don’t want to have – but if he wants to talk, and if not – I try to slip in information.“ He and his sister Kelly admitted to Roberts that it’s difficult to navigate the role reversal by being there for their father, but they’re more than happy to do it.

Good on Ozzy Osbourne for having the courage to speak publicly about his illness. While it would be perfectly understandable for him to keep the details of his health to himself, he’s chosen to take the first steps towards a new normal with his adoring fans. Parkinson’s may limit what a person can do physically, but it has nothing to do with the determination to thrive. Osbourne’s hope to one day return to the stage is inspiring and shows that even in the face of adversity, we can all be our own heroes. Best of luck to Ozzy and the rest of The Osbournes
