Bicep have launched a new project called CHROMA: “a record label, a series of curated events,” and “a brand new and constantly evolving Bicep AV/DJ show,” as well as a “unique visual identity created in collaboration with David Rudnick and his Terrain studio,” per a press release. The mission’s stated goal is to cover everything “from Acid to Alkaline,” providing a “more rounded picture” than the one they’ve previously brought to their fans.
To celebrate the launch, the Belfast duo of Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar have shared a new single called “CHROMA 001: HELIUM,” five minutes of stark breakbeats, sub bass, and a looped vocal sample. The idea for the track was to “add some more grit” into their live set, resulting in a sound that’s “a bit darker and more club-focused,” they write.
