The Dankatsu (Game Sekai Tensei 〈Dankatsu〉~Gamer wa【Dungeon Shukatsu no Susume】o〈Hajime kara〉Play suru~, or Reincarnation in the Game World Dankatsu: Game Addict Plays “Encouragement For Job Hunting in Dungeons from a “New Game”) TV anime has gotten a teaser visual and a January 2027 broadcast start window.
It was also revealed that Nagisa Miyazaki is directing the anime at STUDIO MASSKET, and that Yuto Uemura is voicing protagonist Zephyrus.
Dankatsu is based on the TO Books-published light novel series written by by Kaede Nishikigi amd illustrated by Shuri. The premise sees Zephyrus reincarnating inside Dankatsu, a well-received fantasy game of ambitious scope, after over 8000 hours of playtime.
The light novel series debuted in March 2022 and will get its 16th volume on August 15, 2026 in Japan. A manga by Hiroshi Asagi began serialization in April 2022.
Dankatsu initially started as a web novel on Kakuyomu in 2021.
