The Berserk board game announced last year is set to begin its crowdfunding campaign on October 7. Ahead of the campaign’s start, developer Monolith Board Games has released a trailer providing a general overview of the co-operative game and preview of its miniatures.
As described on its Gamefound page, this tabletop adaptation of the late Kentaro Miura‘s dark fantasy manga revolves around the Millennium Falcon Arc and supports 1 to 5 players. Heroes are powered by Action Cards that can also be used to activate special abilities and game effects, but players will have to be careful of how many they use in a turn due to fatigue (this will reduce your stats, says the trailer).
A game will take around 90 minutes and consists of a multi-round Adventure where Event cards unveil story sections and objectives, in addition to “adding its own set of twists and turns, both good and bad.”
Berserk: The Board Game will have over a 100 35mm-scale ABS and PVC miniatures, including Guts, Serpico, Farnese, Isidro, Schierke, and their respective level up versions. Some of the other characters or beings that have been represented in the game include Casca, Skull Knight, Zodd, Grunbeld, and Kundalini.
Monolith has previously worked on games based on Conan, Batman, and Legend of the Five Rings.
