Bachelor in Paradise’s Dean Unglert Thanks Caelynn Miller-Keyes for Helping Him After Injury -BB
Dean Unglert sure is grateful he came back for girlfriend Caelynn Miller-Keyes at the end of Bachelor in Paradise’s season this past summer. The 24-year-old former pageant princess has been playing nurse for Unglert since a ski accident in the Swiss Alps landed him in the hospital over the holidays. In a sappy Instagram post, Unglert thanked Miller-Keyes for „changing [his] smelly socks, carrying [his] luggage, and keeping [him] entertained.„
Unglert shared a hospital bed selfie on Instagram just before Christmas revealing his dramatic skiing accident that left him with a dislocated hip and a fractured femur. It wasn’t long after that Miller-Keyes was on a flight to Switzerland to be by her man’s side while he healed enough to fly back to the United States. The couple explored Europe by train until just this past weekend when they were given medical permission to return home and begin Unglert’s rehab. Both Miller-Keyes and Unglert have seemed in good spirits as their shared playful stories on social media of „conjugal visits“ at the hospital and silly arguments about whether or not Unglert was going to wear pants out each day.
The pair flew back to the USA on Sunday to begin what People reports is a 12-week recovery journey. Unglert, who has made a name for himself traveling in his van, which is also his home, asked fans over social media for activities to pass the time while he recovers. Unglert, who is usually active and enjoys hobbies like rock climbing and hiking, mentioned perhaps trying to learn an instrument seeing as he had never made it a priority in the past. Miller-Keyes is no doubt enjoying some down time with her boyfriend who is usually on-the-move. In his Instagram post, Unglert thanked her for „everything you’ve already done and for everything you unwittingly still have to do.“ Miller-Keyes has been Unglert’s primary caretaker, as Unglert’s mother passed when he was a child; he’s been open about the fact that he is not close with his father.
Miller-Keyes and Unglert were an unlikely couple from the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise. It was a returning season for Unglert, who was previously criticized for stringing along multiple women during his first round at the show. Unglert has been accused of being indecisive and unready for commitment, and left Bachelor in Paradise after hitting it off with Miller-Keyes, as he felt he wasn’t ready for the relationship she wanted. Miller-Keyes appeared heartbroken for all of five seconds at Unglert’s departure, and quickly moved on with 24-year old-investment analyst Connor Saeli from Hannah Brown’s season. Just as things started to get serious for Miller-Keyes and Saeli, Unglert returned to the beach claiming to have made a mistake, and asked Miller-Keyes to leave the show with him and see where things took them.
While nobody, including Unglert, expected the couple to last past the live finale, Miller-Keyes and Unglert have proven to be one of Bachelor in Paradise’s standout couples thus far. The pair have veered off the beaten Bachelor path and have enjoyed traveling, living in Unglert’s van, and seemingly having fun together. Weeks before the accident, Unglert was quoted saying that they were being „super patient“ with their relationship and „exploring each other“ with „nothing really on the horizon.“ It will be interesting to see if the accident will force them both to make more serious choices regarding their relationship.
