The series has kept up the print run for just shy of ten years, making the series the biggest franchise in Japanese literacy history.

As of the release of Volume 95, in Japan, there have been 390 million copies printed with 70 million copies being printed worldwide. To compare with the second highest selling manga series, Dragon Ball, One Piece has printed 90 million more copies in Japan than Dragon Ball has printed worldwide.
