I know everything I am looking for is here, watch movies, watch series, education, games, exams, news, current events and many more.
“The Zone of Interest | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Jonathan Glazer’s fourth feature film is, oddly, his most accessible. The English writer-director’s quasi-Brechtian alienation is still present in his approach to subject, characters, and their dilemmas in their world, as are sequences in reverse exposure, uneven jumps in time, and even seconds of a deep…
“The Holdovers | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Universal have lost their minds waiting until the middle of January to release THE HOLDOVERS in the UK. Those who have longed for a new Christmas classic to join the festive canon can be assured Alexander Payne’s 1970s-set comedy-drama is it, despite having had to wait until the…
“Mean Girls (2024) | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Going on pre-release advertising alone, Paramount Pictures seemed determined not to let audiences know MEAN GIRLS (2024) was a musical. The advertising featured no songs and the tagline proclaimed, “This isn’t your mother’s MEAN GIRLS” – a nod to its 20-year-old, yet still endlessly referenced, source material….
“Priscilla | TAKE ONE | Reviews Watch Online” Never meet your heroes, the saying goes. Sofia Coppola’s PRISCILLA would posit that neither should you marry them, have a kid with them, or agree to live in their gilded cage. The film – told firmly from the perspective of Elvis Presley’s wife – strips away the…
“Poor Things | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Leave it to Yorgos Lanthimos, the Greek purveyor of oddities, to attempt the supposedly unadaptable POOR THINGS, Alasdair Gray’s 1992 novel of conflicting points of view, paratextual playfulness, and his trademark commentary on Glaswegian goings-on. The film follows Emma Stone’s Bella Baxter, a woman reanimated after her death…
“Tchaikovsky’s Wife | TAKE ONE Watch Online” After its 2022 Cannes premiere, director and writer Kirill Serebrennikov’s bio-drama about one of classical music’s most disastrous marriages has finally reached UK cinemas. A new Serebrennikov is always cause for celebration; from his appropriately fevered PETROV’S FLU (2022) to his recent stage and opera productions across Europe…
“Fallen Leaves | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Aki Kaurismäki’s first film since 2017 continues with his trademark mix of deadpan humour and social realism in a clear-eyed take on class politics, mobility, and never succumbing to hopelessness. FALLEN LEAVES has even been described by the director as the fourth entry to his ‘Proletariat trilogy’ after…
“Fingernails | TAKE ONE | Reviews Watch Online” Love is one of the most popular topics in cinema, and the countless ways it can manifest form a uniquely human range of emotions. Christos Nikou’s second feature film, FINGERNAILS, takes that idea and examines how we can distort and pervert human interaction when we look to…
“Is There Anybody Out There? | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Filmmaker Ella Glendining was born with a rare form of dwarfism – without hip joints and with extremely short femurs. Her condition makes her immediately, often unwelcomingly, visible in public spaces. This uneasy duality of hyper-visibility on one side and the misunderstood and under-representation of…
“Anatomy of a Fall | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Receiving one of the most prestigious awards on the film calendar will always set a film apart, bringing more intense scrutiny with it. For 2023’s Palme d’Or winner, ANATOMY OF A FALL, claiming the high prize of Cannes Film Festival is a poisoned chalice, in which…
