I know everything I am looking for is here, watch movies, watch series, education, games, exams, news, current events and many more.
“The Iron Claw | TAKE ONE Watch Online” The opening scenes of THE IRON CLAW are a bold directorial statement, presenting a wrestling ring in sharp black and white before focusing on the sweat and pain of the competitors in agonising slow motion. This intro would be a fearless path for Durkin at the best…
“Tummy Monster | TAKE ONE Watch Online” TUMMY MONSTER is a wildly inventive psychological thriller set entirely in a Glasgow tattoo parlour over less than 24 hours. Ciaran Lyons’ directorial debut feature is UNCUT GEMS by way of Glasgow, using its sense of confinement to build to a peak of anxiety and tense release that…
“Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Romanian writer-director Radu Jude often approaches topics – social, environmental, political, or metaphysical – that would paralyse others with anxiety with a detached tone but certainly not devoid of emotion. In his latest long-titled feature, DO NOT EXPECT TOO…
“Disco Boy | TAKE ONE Watch Online” A grimly hypnotic desperation drives DISCO BOY, Giacomo Abbruzzese’s feature film debut. First there is Aleksei (Franz Rogowski), a young Belarusian who has crossed into France illegally and lost his companion along the way. With no other option, he joins the French Foreign Legion—the one route where his…
“Last Swim | TAKE ONE Watch Online” The British indie film scene has always had an eye for generational talent. From Oscar-winner Chiwetel Ejiofor, who got acclaim in Stephen Frears’ indie DIRTY PRETTY THINGS, to Hollywood starlet Emily Blunt in Paweł Pawlikowski’s MY SUMMER OF LOVE, there is a recurrence of British indie films finding…
“Occupied City | TAKE ONE Watch Online” It is always a welcome occasion when Steve McQueen announces a new project. This time, the British filmmaker turns his eyes towards Amsterdam, where he has lived for almost three decades. In adapting the book Atlas of an Occupied City: Amsterdam 1940-1945 by Bianca Stigter, the documentary’s narration…
“Scala!!! | TAKE ONE | Reviews Watch Online” The Scala cinema, which closed in 1993, was an eventful place. This documentary tells us tales of drugs, sex, suicide and, of course, movies. From the Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society screenings to sexploitation classics such as Russ Meyer’s FASTER PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL! (1965). The 1933 version…
“American Fiction | TAKE ONE Watch Online” AMERICAN FICTION never feels as cutting as it could be with its commentary, but Cord Jefferson’s debut feature is witty, with sharp characters. Ironically, focusing on the expectations placed upon artists never quite delivers unexpected insights with its satire. However, engaging performances from Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K….
“All of Us Strangers | TAKE ONE Watch Online” A beautifully touching central performance from Andrew Scott elevates ALL OF US STRANGERS to stirring levels, and Andrew Haigh’s directorial gift for eliciting emotional sincerity remains undimmed since his breakout sophomore feature, WEEKEND. Even if the film flirts with becoming too fantastical, especially with a divisive…
“The Zone of Interest | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Jonathan Glazer’s fourth feature film is, oddly, his most accessible. The English writer-director’s quasi-Brechtian alienation is still present in his approach to subject, characters, and their dilemmas in their world, as are sequences in reverse exposure, uneven jumps in time, and even seconds of a deep…
