Shinkalion Gets in The Robot in Preview of 2nd Evangelion Crossover

 

Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion, the transforming Shinaksen super sentai, super robot franchise, hasn’t shied away from crossovers, with the TV anime series collaborating with ex-Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, and Shinji Ikari from Evangelion in the past. With the upcoming Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Movie: Mirai Kara Kita Shinsoku no ALFA-X anime film, a second collaboration video with Evangelion will be released on the same day as the premiere of the film on December 27.

Megumi Ogata, who has voiced Shinji Ikari since Neon Genesis Evangelion commented on the collaboration by saying her and Hayato Hatasugi, voice actor, Ayane Sakura, recorded new lines for it separate from already recorded dialogue from Evangelion and that she had to ask if it was the original Shinji or the “new film version of Shinji,” referring to the ‘remake’ films.

 

 

Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Movie: Mirai Kara Kita Shinsoku no ALFA-X opens in Japanese theaters on December 27, set after the TV anime which was broadcast between January 6, 2018, and June 29, 2019. Evangelion’s new film, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 will be released in Japan in June 2020.
